HA Announcement: The Hall of Renown
==============================================================================
Once every so often, a player represents themselves as an
exemplary asset to the game. They may be silent, or may rise above
the crowds. However they are known, they are, and forever shall be...
The Heroes.
There are many members of the Mortal community who, every day, show total and
selfless dedication to this game, if for nothing more than to make one person,
often a stranger, happy. These people may be recognised amongst their friends,
but often go unnoticed amongst the flood of players.
This July, the Herald Assembly will be introducing the Hall of Renown, a
listing of all the great players that have over time dedicated themselves to
this game in some way. These people will be known as "Heroes", and respected
as such.
The next few pages will explain how the Hall of Renown will be brought into
the game, and how you or your peers can claim a place in the eternal rankings.

HA Announcement: The Hall of Renown
==============================================================================
1. What is a "Hero"?
A. A Hero is the term given to those who have been inducted into the Hall of
Renown. These people are also awarded with the rank of "Hero" so that their
accomplishment may be recognised by the entire MUD.
2. How do I become a Hero?
A. To be inducted into the Hall of Renown, a person must be nominated to the
Herald Assembly by a peer. A person cannot nominate themselves. Each year,
all the nominees will be judged based on their committment and dedicated to
the game during their time here, and if successful, a handful of nominees
will be inducted.
3. How do you judge the nominees?
A. Nominees will be judged based on how they have contributed to the game.
There are eight categories which a player will be judged on:
* Council Contributor * Guild/Order/Clan Contributer
* Organisation Leader * Frequent Quester
* Skilled PKiller * Skilled Runner/Mob Killer
* Skilled Explorer * Frequent Helper (Ask Channel, CR's etc.)
Nominees do not have to be active in all these areas, but must be active in
a substantial way to be considered for the Hall of Renown.

4. When will the Hall of Renown be introduced?
A. The Herald Assembly will be accepting nominations for the first Heroes up
until the end of July, and after that, the Hall of Renown will be formally
created. Keep an eye on the News and the Archives for updated information.
5. Where can I get more information?
A. The Herald Assembly will be posting updates on the progress of the Hall of
Renown on the News and the Archives. Please check both of these regularly to
be up to date.

Nations News: Half-Elf

Last months reports of Aziel Iffandyre, Regent of Lomar have given way
recently to even more curiosity and rumor for the reason of his visit.
Overheard in the Troayn Inn, it has been said that there is an artifact of
great importance hidden within the city walls. It is unknown what this object
may be or even where it is, it cannot be determined if this rumor is true or
the fanciful tale of a passerby.
In better news, the Elohai and Hobbits have formed an alliance between
the two nations. Supplies are already being gathered from the orchards and
crops to send as an offering of gratitude. A promise of peace and aid has been
forged along with the hope that both nations shall prosper from the agreement.
The Aerandir have also invited the Elohai to venture into their
hometown with the offer of trade and peace as well. With the renewed strength
of the Elohai and the near completion in the rebuilding of Eldestra, the
newly aquired treaties between the Halfling and Sea-elves can only further the
growth within the nation. The Elohai look forward to making further agreements
with the Aerandir.

Nations News: Elf

Under the guidance of the High Council of Arborlon and with the wishes
and approval of recently appointed Aran Gildeth Calon Dracos, the elven Head
Diplomat Minevra T`alathreal de LifeWind successfully established the United
Commonwealth between the Quendi and O'kwyl nations. Elven troops are
preparing for the long march south to the Tribal Swamplands so they can start
their on going mission to protect and secure the lizard city.
It has been decided by King and Council that the Quendi trade routes
must be reforged to continue the growth and rebuilding of the elven peoples.
From this Arwen Minevra has been charged to establish the first caravans to
leave the protection of the Island of Irrybis and shall be heading out soon
with much sought after elven items and weapons to trade between the other
races of the realms. Rumor has it that the new city of Irae shall be the
caravans first location but Arwen Minevra refuses to comment for security
purposes.

Kosaim Arcannis was rescued from his capture in Irae. Duchess
Saydriana summoned a large golem to scare off the fishermen and to push the
PRS Taffey out to Sea
In happier news, Kosaim Arcannis daughter Aristacia is engaged to the
Sea-Elf Geverin. The date for the upcoming wedding has yet to be released.
There has been a security breach in Reomyr. Someone who was very
skilled broke in and kidnapped a drow servant. An inquiry will be held to
figure out how the breach could have occured.

Guild News: Fathomers

We have had a good month here at the Fathomer Guild. We have had
several new PEC pirates swab our decks, and I hope that soon they will become
full guilded fathomers!
We have also been running up a storm, making Bahamut our personal
whipping boy and experimenting with fathomers on various runs. I was actually
quite impressed when I took this character to some of the easier runnables,
such as Mandor and Kahl. :)
Anyway, we are always recruiting, and I'd be happy to field any questions you
may have about us or the class. :)

Our former Guildmistress, Gisselle stepped down so she could become an

Murren has taken over as the GuildMistress, Ellbelymar has moved up to Number
One and Gilliam was voted in for Number Two. Congratulations to all of you as

The quest this month is to think up a game-wide annual holiday for the game,
and explain it's meaning, any special celebrations (ie. feasts, parades, gift
giving, etc), the name of the holiday and the date it would occur, and
anything else you might find relevant.
