Helter Skelter (FFA) explained

News #242 posted by Blodkai on 03/30/03.

Helter Skelter (aka Free For All or FFA) is a game mode during which any character regardless of its deadly or peaceful status can attack and kill (or be killed by) any other character within its level range.

During FFA you will neither gain nor lose experience, your equipment will be damaged but will not scrap, disarmed or zapped weapons and equipment will fall into your inventory, and upon death you will respawn at your healer with your entire inventory intact and all of your spell affects still upon you.

During this initial round of FFA, saving was disabled, meaning that once it was over the system rebooted and everything reverted to its pre-FFA condition. (This includes donations rooms and houses.)

Possible future additions to this mode include: - remove shove, drag and summon restrictions - removing geo/time/terrain/weather restrictions for astral spells - helter skelter stats for individuals and organizations - an announcement system

The subjects of Honour points and corpse skinning in FFA were wildly popular and are being discussed. Currently FFA does include Honour and permit corpse skinning, but of course with character saving disabled this has no real impact.
