Atraxen began playing Realms in 1996 and joined the Guild of Vampires sometime
in early 1997. He tried to avoid taking up a leadership role for about five
years but decided it was time to take a more active role two years ago.
In the Guild of Vampires Atraxen occupied mainly non-coded positions, he was
a Sire for about a year and was founding a council for exploring and mapping
when he was approached with a chance at Immortalhood. Atraxen was also
somewhat involved with Nations early on, however due to time restraints he had
to step away from it after a few months.

Sealom: How are you finding Immortal life so far and how different is it to
playing as a mortal?
Atraxen: I'm enjoying it quite a bit - it's completely different from my
mortal days. Though I have a new buttprint in the immrooms instead
of the auction room now.

Sealom: What is required of a new imm? Like, what do you need to learn, what
roles are you supposed to fill, and such?
Atraxen: It's about what you'd expect - policies, commands, techniques, and
how to pull the right lever to make things happen.

Atraxen: I miss hanging out with my old friends, but I'd say that overall I'm
pretty happy where I am - and now I can lick them from anywhere in
the Realms - that's a big plus.
Sealom: That's always a good ability to have.
Sealom: Thank you for allowing me the time to interview you, Atraxen. It was
a pleasure.

Coelit began playing Realms of Despair starting out on a Tandy 1000, way back
in 1998. He started off his journey towards Immortality building up characters
and first getting into the Guild of Augurers, having a lot of help from the
then Guildmistress Alovea. While in the Guild of Augurers, he was a member of
the Induction Team, and soon moved to Baali where he joined their Induction
Team. He also rose to become the Number Two, then Number One of Baali.
After a couple years of being a part of Baali, he decided to move on. He
then found his home in the Order of Ringbearers, where he was in all levels
of leadership (and the Order Leader twice) and a member of all the Order
subcouncils. He ended up turning the order into a more of a family-type
atmosphere instead of just another organization.
After a long stint as the Leader of Ringbearers, he was approached with
the prospect of Immortality, which he turned down. Then after a couple of
months he was approached again, and he accepted after making sure that his
happy home of Ringbearers was well taken care of and not going to crumble
down after his leave, and also to make sure that he was ready for the new
found power and responsibility.
Even though alot of the order saw him as a father-type figure, they all
knew he had to move on and up the ladder of success in the Realms.

At first, as an Immortal, he was not used to having so many channels turned
on and having so much screen scroll by, and what some people say on public
channels and the like. Of course he was used to some of the scroll when the
Ringbearers would get into a roll on a subject that was entertaining.
Thus far he hasn't made a definite decision on what council he is looking
to join in the future, and has no definite favorites either. He is doing his
best as an Immortal, and enjoying being a part of the Immortal staff.
While now attired with his new Immortal gear you will see him stalking about
the Realms wearing what looks like to be a lumberjack's outfit from head to
toe, including the double-bladed chopping ax. You will also notice that
most of the times it refers to him as being AX, which is his nickname. When
asked how he received such a nickname this was his response.
"Way back, when I was just a 'lil guy with my first char, I didn't do much of
anything but kill whatever. It didn't matter if I could or not, I would just
hack 'n slash and beat it up. Someday, somebody said, "Hey, you're like a
non-stop ax, you just keep chopping away." That was in a room full of people
I had never seen before, and it just sort of stuck from then on."

The civic improvements to the infrastructure of Opallinoc and expenditures
for defence have been paid for with generous donations from the Uruk'hai.
Thusly, Klaatu has ended the Totalitarian form of Government. Taxation is no
longer needed, at this time. The Government now has no deficit.
Dateline Opallinoc: Restored Titles
Titles, Honors and Positions in Government are to be bestowed upon those of
the Uruk'hai that show themselves worthy and capable of the responsibilities.
Dateline Opallinoc: Tip of the Month
Once again, an experienced Uruk'hai that shall remain nameless, has sacrificed
his precious weapon after being disarmed by a low level mobile. Watch the
battle carefully for the DISARM message. Always look first before sacrificing

the Run Council (RC) by popular demand to band together a dedicated group of
runners within the guild. The RC aims to provide high quality runs for all
members and to train those less experienced in the fine art of running. It's
like the NC but with more killing! :D
The GoD continues to be a strong player in the IGPK contest. Currently tied
for 2nd place with the GoF, the final IGPK event coming up will determine if
we rock, or REALLY rock. It's win-win, yeah?

In celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the Realms of Despair Reunion, the
Immortals are holding a contest to design a logo for the event!
Your design may be anything that includes the words "10th Anniversary Reunion"
and fits the celebratory theme. The deadline for this contest is the 10th of
June, and all entries should be e-mailed to Myra at myra@game.org
The Herald Assembly will organize the judging of the entries, and the winner
will be presented with a set of Reunion souveniers with their logo on it thanks
to Thoric, and awarded with a glory prize.
You may enter this contest even if you are not attending the reunion. If you
have any questions, feel free to address them to Moonbeam or the Herald
Assembly. Remember that the deadline is the 10th of June, and enjoy!
