This weeks poll, as many of you know, was "What would you do/change if
you were immortal?". Well, many of you happily told us to go away, but
those who took the time to answer had the option of remaining anonymous.
Some decided that they wanted to remain anonymous for the fact that if
by some miracle they ever sought to become immortal, they wouldn't have
a bad rep. Without further adieu, here are the, oft comical, responses.
What would you do/change if you were immortal?
Zeikle: me? :P I'd like to work with pkill some, try to revive it...
really interested in building too, and working on new classes
and class revisions
Garlain: no comment
Someone: i would make leveling easier! (lowbie) :)
Eolis: find away to make pkills more attractive for the
peaceuls to get involved there, more guilds stuff. Guilds kinda don't
have much to go on as is -- more interguild stuff, and even some
interguild/order stuff
Darklund: i dont really know
Someone: im not really sure... ive never thought about it.
Kuah: hah.. I would place the CoD staff in charge of most everything
Someone: i would make it easier for people to become immortal
because i think there are a lot of people that would make good
immortals.
Pix: the help files there useless (Would change them)
Amoria: I'd probably do a lot of PR :P
keep in close touch with the mortals. Communicate.
Someone: when i imm ill tell you
Kyrnia: well, I'd definitely want to do more work with NC,
the newbie tower/new hq, and also work on newbie/lowbie quests'
Build an area, slay some annoying people, you know,
all that fun stuff :)

NoCtUrNe: I would like to boost up the old Quests
I think the quests nowadays are too short, and
without storyline mostly
Jando: For selfish reasons, I would try to organize a new
area representing Australia.
Someone: First, I would fix that bug with guardian vamps - it's
really annoying
Second, I would fix the arena container scrap bug.
Nothing is supposed to scrap in arena'
Also, I would take the side that is lobbying for the
elimination of DTs. Let these room kill you, but keep your corpse
intact You must supplicate corpse - ok, but don't destroy your
possessions I have seen too many people quit this game because
they lost items they had spent years to get DTs are clearly
reducing the fun of this game. They must go
Someone: ToL's always crowded, more areas at lvls 35 - 50 plz :D
Someone: First kill policy should be changed, it makes people compete
for mobs.
Someone: Classes aren't equal, some classes have very few skills or useful
traits.
Someone: I think crowded areas take away from the fun of the game
Someone: Paladins should have grip.
Someone: I'd also hold the RoD annual Quantum Spike Quaff till you Drop
marathon race
Someone: I would try to improve relations between the mortals and the
immortals. Lately there seems to have been a disintegration
in involvement that I feel makes the mud a more fun place to be.
I remember when imms used to be more publicly active other than
pkills, and to me it was more fun.'
Someone: I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I might
get balzhured
Chantria: We could have it so that you could go to tythia (sp?)
or thoric and say spells please and get leveling spells from
them..level 2-15'
Someone: i'd prolly streamline rp'ing, maybe set aside an rp area'
Alabaster: i wouldn't imm
Someone: i'd probably try to balance out the av eq for evils and devo
Simone: one thing for sure... you know how there are level restriction
for people too high of a level to enter certain areas? I would
sorta do the opposite to prevent too low level chars entering
places they surely wouldn't survive
Eros: i would try to change the whole p-leveling scenario just like
the happy d-orb and multiying but for p-leveling not multiying,
the idea of a 21 year old av is disturbing and takes some of the
fun out of the mud, and to sell it for eq, defeats the purpose of
having it on a mob, and avoiding the challenge
Someone: I would remove death traps from the game. It is the last thing
non player related that ruins the mud.
Belmore: hmm...make me an imm and lets see what i change :P
Someone: I'd abuse the hell command, so don't print my name :)
Rasmussen: actually i would code an arena where people didnt need an imm
to host it, there would be basic rules there like no disarm
and no looting and all that. Have it like the old arena used
to be long long ago...people just walk in and kill each other
Gultar: hmmm, good question, couple o peeps on my hit list i'd take care of
Talanthus I'd make thieves more useful. Muds were more fun when the best
party was one of each character type. That is not the case
here. Pick lock is worthless because of passdoor and doorbash.'

Stories from the Bloodbath
It was dismal, rainy day, and I just happened to be exploring the famed
Tower of Enlightenment. I was nearing the top of the great tower, when
a fiery shadow lept from the darkness and stabbed me in the back. My mind
began whirring instantly, as I quickly quaffs my magical black potion, and
assumed a fighting stance. This cursed being's backstab damaged me only
slightly and I laughed in its horrid face. I can't really call it a face
though. Half rotting green skin was hanging from its face, and there were
maggots crawling in and out its eye sockets, which no longer contained
eyes. Its nose was a mess of bloody flesh, and as it sneered, blood
splatted accross the room. It floated slightly off the ground, and drops
of blood, puss, and mucus, dripped off its dark black cape. It wheezed
and growled at me as I started to chant, and I entwined the foul beast in
a funnel of ethereal energy. The flaming wrath twitch back in awe of my
magic, and I closed my eyes and began chanted once again. I raised my arms
high above my head and let out a blood-curdling wail. The boundries of
time began shifting and a swirling vortex opened within the foul beast. It
let out a pitiful wail. What was left of its midsection began to swirl
and tear apart before my very eyes. Blood started squirting out its ears,
eyes holes, and mouth and it choked and gagged on its own blood. I cackled
insanely as, all at once, its magled body exploded from the strain,
shooting mass amounts of blood and demolished flesh about the room. Blood
flowed like a river all accross the floor. Millions of tiny maggots
crawled about, released from the evil being's decaying body. All that
remained of the demon was a battered pulp of a head. I smiled.

Guild of Druids News
The Guild of Druids has new program its implementing.
Only weeks old, the "Mob of the Week" program is al-
ready showing great promise. Started by the Ceirana,
the GuildMaster, this program assigns a certain mob
to which the guild members are to kill and donate the
equipment to the donation room. For example, many new
avatars entering into the guild have use of Shade eq,
so that was one of our duties. The guild came through
in a smashing success and the Humble Offerings now are
stocked with Shade eq. The Council of Druids is also
compiling a list of things that should go into our
donation room. The lower chest filled only with items
that someone leveling has use for, and the higher crate
filled only with that which an avatar can reasonably
make use of. The Other mobs thus far have included Artemis,
Brunhilde, Thoth, and Horus/Sphinx.
The (CoD) Council of Druids has now become the (DHC) Druid
High Council. This change was brought about because of the
conflict between (CoD) Cry of Despair.

The Guild of Mages elections for guild second are in full swing.
So far the nominees are Saraphin, Iceith and GarytT. However,
Iceith has gracefully refused his nomination, and so the race has
been reduced to two participants.
Saraphin is leading an interesting campaign, promising oreo
cookies to those who vote for her.

New CoD Staff Members Bios Continued :)
I was born on the twenty-first day of the seventh month of the calendar
of my people, the month of shadows, in the year of the great shadow, the
day of the shadowed solstice, the day, a dark beam of pure evil fell from
the moon into the newly born of the King and Queen Wizards of Anaerath,
the last day of our people. For, in fear of what was just born, an evil
child, they, my parents, tried to destroy me, yes, a poor child, yet, the
Lords of Magic feared the evil, the carnage, the infamy imbued in me by
the beam of wickedness that fell from the moon. Trying to destroy me, they
created a temporal anomaly, it warped me into a realm its inhabitants call,
the Realm of Despair, and destroyed my parents and their realm there I
fulfilled my destiny, the son of wickedness, the son of evil I preyed on
the fear of poor souls, I slaughtered those who I found guilty, which meant
almost everyone, yet I didn't quite remember why I was so evil. I was pure
evil, yet I was empty. But one day I met my match, a powerful lord of the
realm tempted me to attack him, a vampire was he, the ones who taught me
had told me: "Beware of a vampire's bite, for it will turn you into his
slave, and one of their brethren". I am living proof of that, my wickedness
was retaliated by many, my powers were diminished, my stature was lowered.
I had to regrow, I was taken under the care of Celia, who soon married
Paine, they both made me partly who I am today they helped me control the
anger and evil inside of me to create a more powerful self. Then I met
Nicki, the one creature I couldn't bear myself to slay, the light of my
life, the brightening of my soul. I achieved what my people called
"fragalan", or what roughly translates as "serenity". I joined the Cry of
Despair as part of my fragalan, it has helped me achieve it, after five
hundred years of searching. Yet my search is not complete, it will go on...
forever.
