From the recordings of the High Tower of Sorcery's resident historian
A strange sequence of events has occurred lately. Individually each event
may have been insignificant but when viewed together I fear they portend
to foul events looming on the horizon. Though I am alone in my concerns,
I remain watchful and have recorded my thoughts and observations herein.
Approximately a fortnight ago a number of intruders were detected and
eliminated from the tower. At the time I, like my brethren, paid little
heed to the matter once they were disposed of. It is not uncommon
for ordinary people to envy the powers held here and by extension an
incursion by a group is not a cause for concern.
I have subsequently learned, however, that the intruders were able to
bypass the normal detection spells and defenses and were actually
found inside the tower grounds and even up among the assorted floors
where we study, practice, perform our various tasks and even store
assorted artifacts. To have made it so far without alerting the guards
and the Mistress is highly unusual. I have checked the records but
found no precedent for this event in recent history.

In the following week a number of rumors began to circulate regarding
the state of cleanliness of certain sections of the tower. Some of
the more unforgiving of the black robes went so far as to openly
suggest the cleaning staff be publicly whipped for their lax
attitudes. (Personally, I highly doubt any among that group bothered
to verify the rumors. They simply enjoy the excuse to stir up trouble.)
I, being the official historian, personally went to observe and record
the facts and it seems the rumors are true. However, I observed that
the apparent mold is, in fact, magical in nature and I am highly
suspicious of it and do not imagine that the staff, competent or
otherwise, can successfully deal with it. Sadly, my opinion is
drowned out by the majority who cannot be bothered to go and check
for themselves but prefer to simply blame someone for the trouble.

Finally, I have recently learned that the Mistress has ordered an
inventory and increased holding level of a wide variety of magical
reagents. Once again my brethren to whom I have spoken find nothing
unusual about this incident. I must admit, that were I to
view it as an isolated case I too might find it to be a normal thing
for her to do yet when taken in context I feel that there is
something coming and that the Mistress is aware of it and quietly
preparing. While I do not know what that event may be,
I feel a great sense of foreboding and also excitement that
I may be able to chronicle a significant historical event.

Diplomatic Relations
The Elves have gone quiet since the events surrounding the tyranny and
insanity of the Doom Pixie. The borders of Arborlon have remained open,
although the Elves themselves have done little in the ways of contacting
outsides.
To re-open the channels of diplomacy, rumours of an all-nation event have
begun to fly. The where and when are yet to be released, but scribes have
been whispering of the Tari and the Nation First having meetings and issuing
requests for invitations.

Dateline Opallinoc - The Doldrums
As the summer drought continues, little work is being done on civic projects.
New sites for wells are being sought, to access the North Plains Aquafier.
Already a number of irrigation channels are done and sluice gates built. But,
the need for a water source still persists. A study of various resevoirs used
by other municipalities of the Realms is under advisement.
Dateline High Tower of Sorcery - cube of wonders
The Grand Mistress of the High Tower of Sorcery has announced the discovery of
the "cube of wonders". Her announcement was to alert the Realms as to their
existence and as a plea of assistance in learning / discovering what the cubes
are for and how to use them properly. Sources within the Tower claim that there
are only twenty of the cubes, located on various entities of the Realms. Should
you find one, as with any magic item, be cautious, who knows what will happen.
Dateline Darkhaven - Uruk'hai Trade Talks
An agreement has been struck with the Pixies and Nuada of The Dunhill Demesnes.
Resumption of trade of Pixie brand nectars for Uruk'hai products is under way.
Negotiations with the Gralthai are tabled while Excane determines what Uruk'hai
trade items are needed by his nation. The Uruk'hai hope to hear from him soon.
New trade talks have surfaced with Ashandra and the Aerandir. Determination of
needs and value of trade items is being discussed.

Dateline Opallinoc - Poor Harvest
This year's drought and severe heat over the growing season has resulted in a
poor harvest of food supplies. Alternative sources of staples, herbs and spices
are being looked at. Reports from the Inahir Protectorate also show low yields
of feed for the eltor beasts. The High Council has decreed that there will be
severe punishment for any kind of trades or exchanges with the Grand Daimyo.
Klaatu, the Benevolent, mentions the last trade with Edo and those rice husks.
Dateline Darkhaven - Troll Den Hides
Volstagg the Catacomb Dweller, while pausing for a mug of ale at the Grim
Smile, overheard some adventurers whispering about finding a craftsman that
could make items from the Troll Den hides. He is now travelling to the western
cities to seek out this fabled craftsman.
Dateline Darkhaven - Mystic Armor of Nidaros
Volstagg also reports that two gnomes came into the Grim Smile inquiring about
a gnome named Gilbenstock. The gnomes claimed Gilbenstock had sacred knowledge
of something long forgotten and legendary. The Mystic Armor of Nidaros was
alledged to be just bed time stories to many a young gnome. The gnomes claim
Gilbenstock had found a reference in the Room of All Knowledge and seeking the
eldest gnomes in the Realms for information.

With the news of dwarves across the realms coming together to show their
defiance to Duke Luther, working morale is high and production is looking
to exceed expectations. Since Cadfael, Axgoth, Roki, Grimbold and so many
others took on the task of peaceful defiance to Luther's overstretching
taxations of the labourers of the world, hopes of a better future are high
and dwarves across the continent are whistling away longer work days. They
happily quarry the stones which are eagerly bought up for the production
of modern, elegant, structurally sound housing for the people.
I thank you dwarves for your participation, and eagerly await the better,
more dwarven future that awaits us.

family that may take the position.
In Reomyr, the council is trying to balance the budget. It keeps falling over
and hitting the ground.
When a council member insisted on taking up the taxes, Kosaim insisted on
taking up the carpet. the council member insisted again and Kosaim responded:
