Desk of the Editor - by Myra Editor
----------------------------------------------------------------
I have found this issue of the Cry especially
difficult to edit, as it will be my last. However,
after my four year vacation from Immortality, it feels
good to “be home.” I am leaving the Cry in the capable
hands of Alysira, and have no doubts that she will do
great things with the paper.
While I may be leaving, this edition of the paper is
Bittersweet as it brings me pleasure to present an
entire edition dedicated to Immortals and all that
they have done for us. You will find a complete
section focusing on interviews with many of our
beloved Imms as well as well wishes from guilds and
orders to those that impact them daily. I would like
to thank Moonbeam for her work on a special piece that
you are sure to enjoy.
As I depart from this role, I want you to remember
that there are never goodbyes, only “I’ll see you
later.”

Guild of Mages
With the arrival of the season of Samhain, the mages
reach their power peak, bringing with them a dark
shadow over the Realms. The tower's magic, located
within Darkhaven's walls, radiates forth a spell that
weaves over the lands, bringing with it mystery and
magical proportions. It has been rumored that what
destroyed our beloved Il'Liara is coming after us,
with our power coming to its peak we shall prevail.
We warmly welcome to the guild Moras, Brayden,
Malkatov, Cazbellia, Sahray, Targar and the return of
Ionel. With IT and MAP open we are sure to add more
new members soon.
Corsterix, Legba, Thoth, and Horus are among this
month's casualties as Gom wreaks their wrath and
relearns the world after the Shattering.
Congratulations to Kauai and Romani. The gnome and half-
elf couple were married this month and are happily
casting together for all time.

Guild of Clerics
GoC was pleased to add Kissandra, Tokai, and Alli to
the guild. A dirty carrot party will be schedualed
soon to welcome them! Everyone else is still out and
exploring the new world with a big thanks to all the
Immortals who made it possible! We raise our glasses in
a kumquat merlot toast to all of you :)
Guild of Rangers
Aldridge, Jond, Lorthar, Lynfendyra, and Threlith all
passed their Pledge Reviews. We congratulate them on a
job well done and welcome them to full membership with
all its privileges.
Cate and Urix celebrate a birthdays in October. Just
remember that you are one year older and wiser, but life
is boring if you act like that all the time! Enjoy your
day and act as crazy as possible.
With the fall now underway, we look forward to getting
back to normal routine within the guild. Be sure to
watch the guild calendar on the webpage for all the
events/meetings.

Guild of Thieves
We are happy to announce that questing for GoT
membership is now re-opened. All thieves are
welcome to read the notes posted on our recruiting
board and speak with an IT.
I would like to give special thanks to Agragella,
Louis, Rebme, Ein, Poromenos, Zilensko, and Daci for
all the exploring and risk taking they did collecting
all the data. If I have forgotten anyone, please
accept my heartfelt thanks. You know who you are. I
would also like to thank all the thieves who supplied
directions, mob info, deity info, and item info to share
with other thieves in the guild. Without all of you,
we'd still be stumbling in the dark.
And now for a momentous occasion, Agragella Smella,
our confirmed bachelorette was married this month!.
Congratulations Louis, you snagged yourself quite
the catch...Another wedding, Jerilyth married Xardellion
from Baali, good luck to both of you and all the best from
the guild.

Guild of Vampires
The GoV hosted September's Inter-guild quest. Zya,
Elisabet and Conran all worked hard to make it an
enjoyable and challenging one.
Several new recruits joined our ranks, with Dianymos,
Beldivere and Morkul completing their probationary
periods and becoming full fledged members.
Congratulations to all of them!
Arcanes
A few more months pass and the Order of Arcanes
continues even after the shattering. We would like to
especially welcome our newest members Ryath, Zinaida
and Ingenue. We especially would like to acknowledge
all those who have been contributing to our library
with new maps, maze solutions and detailed area faqs.
Lastly thanks to those in Maidenstone who joined with
our team to win this month's inter-order quest which
was hosted by Inconnu, Pheayre and Selina.

The Fourteen Nations...

RP + Nations News - by Shadia News
----------------------------------------------------------------
Human Nation (Dunedain)
Since Dolye's transcension as Nation Leader, activities
have declined. The Humans went on an exhibition to the
mountains northwest of Lomar and slayed a nest of
fierce dragons threatening Lomar.
It has been said that the Humans carry a plague that
now afflicts their race. They are desperatly
attempting to find a cure.
Doyle has recently heard that troops from Ogerajin's
tribe may have raided a human town in the northwest.
Pixie Nation (Pixie)
Being that Pixies are allied with the Drow...the
Countess of the Pixies, Shelaine, and the Valsharess
of the Drow, Shadia, are conjuring up a scheme for the
Humans...It would seem that they know more of the
plague affecting the Humans then they let on. There
has yet to be a first move, but when they do...oh the
Humans surely will know.

----------------------------------------------------------------
Dwarf Nation (Khazad)
As Dwarves who were lost seek their way home and the
Khazad search their new surroundings for their own,
the Canyons recover slowly from the Shattering.
The Thane, Yeroc, and Athane, Eschara, are attempting
to raise their Daughter in these difficult times.
There is something Different about the little one...
For a price...the Canyons reach out slowly as iron,
steel, gold, and silver flow out once more from the
skilled dwarven craftsmen to meet the needs of the
other Nations.
The Advisor to the throne, Kevyn Freehawk, struggles
to find a way home with the troops that were stationed
at the Beacon Bridge. They were all lost after the
Shattering. He travels with a young soldier named
Zaphyr Belaphyn and the Elven Tari. Scouts to the
Khazad such as Darmik and Silverene search for them
constantly.
Chalamar LifeWind is no longer the Oracle as she
struggles with something new and dark within herself
and attempts to fulfill new duties at the same time.
She should be consulted in all matters of the growing
trade.

Elf Nation (Quendi)
By means of a spell using the water of the gods'
fountain, the seeds of a mallorn tree, and the spirit
of the one surviving tree on the island, Irrybis is
restored. Those who would be citizens of Arborlon are
now required to bond with the Spirit of the island,
lending it their own and making those who dwell here
One. The government has been re-formed, with a
Quenara (Speaker) instead of a Tari (Queen), to lead
the elves and seven Fellowships (one of which each elf
chooses upon becoming a citizen of Arborlon).
Drow Nation (Ilythiiri)
The Drow Nation has recently experienced a change of
Leadership with Zyandras stepping down and Shadia
Rising to Valsharess (or Queen). Shadia has opened
trading to other races as a form of income and as a
way to keep an eye on the other races. Any Nation that
would like to open a trade agreement with the Drow
should send either a missive to Phalar Drydan, the
trademaster, or Shadia Del'drae.

RP + Nations News - by Shadia News
----------------------------------------------------------------
Half-Orc Nation (Ilkhan)
The Half-Orc Nation is currently involved in a civil
revolt. The Il'Khan are spilt into two seperate groups.
Some follow Gaelinar, who believes in war, pillaging,
Looting, and raping. This group is thus far comprised
mostly of the younger, more blood thirsty half-orcs.
The others, mostly elders, are lead by Ogerajin, who
believes in the opposite.
The Nation, as a whole, has been relatively calm. If
Internal conflics continue, it is said that an all-out
War will occur soon.
There are also rumors that one of the leaders,
Gaelinar, had an affair with an elf, leaving her with
child. If this is true, the heir to the Il'khan throne
will be half-blood, causing yet another problem.
Gnome Nation (Tyrrhenu)
The Gnomes are in search of their hometown. If anyone
Knows the location, please contact Horadrim.
Sea-Elf Nation (Aerandir)
If anyone would like to start a plot or RP, contact
Sion or Alerious.
Gith Nation (Gralthai)

Other Roleplay Plots/Rumors
Varrick, the dark emperor, has been spotted again
plaguing the Realms. Rumors have circulated that he
has been demanding the reformation of the races under
his command to prepare for war once again.
The Empire contains five Nations at the moment, them
being the Half-Orc, Half-Troll, Halflings, Lizardman,
and Half-Ogres.
If the rumors are true, he,is the son of Vl'arescht
and reappeared in the Realms shortly after the purging
of the faiths, preaching about returning to his father.
Shados Solaria, also known as the Black Pheniox, has
returned. This time, he has aimed his rage on the
Castle of Lo'Kier, home of Rol Na Feinne. Not much is
Known about this other than Sareko Far'kane, former
leader of the Half-Trolls has been murdered by Shados'
own blade. This has left Sareko's wife Trella, who is
with child, alone. Not many know of Shados' plans or
attentions, but for those that know of him and know of
what he has achieved before also realize that this new
game that he is playing has not ended..it has just
begun.

IGQC Update - by Shadrack News
----------------------------------------------------------------
The Guild of Vampires received a plea for help from
Deren, the Centaur Chieftain, and enlisted the help of
their fellow guilds in a quest to rescue his daughter
from a band of mischievous Dryads.
Setting out into the vastness of forgotten woods, the
questors searched high and low until they had
discovered the Dryads. At times, the Dryads were
vengeful and sent trees upon those who displeased them.
Eventually, the questors were able to answer their
riddles and retrieve the clues necessary to free the
child.

Darshanin - by Alsyria Interviews
----------------------------------------------------------------
"...Everytime a bell rings, an angel gets its wings..."
The bells surely chimed as our own angel, Darshanin,
rose to the ranks of Immortalhood.
Darshanin, the only Paladin to be immortalized, spent
many a day leading the Guild of Paladins before her
ascension. She also spent many years aiding the
players of the Realms by speaking for them as Mortal
Head of The Symposium and by preparing enjoyable
quests as the Co-Head of the Inter-Guild Quest Council.
Recently, I had the privelege to speak with
Darshanin about her new role as an Immortal of the
Realms of Despair.
A: When did you begin playing Realms?
D: I began playing Realms in the Fall of 1998.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Darshanin - by Alsyria Interviews
----------------------------------------------------------------
A: What kept you playing?
D: Many different aspects...wanting to Avatar, the
people I met, the challenges, along with the Guild
and councils I belonged to.
A: How long were you a member of GoP?
D: 3 years, 2 months, 10 days!
[Darshanin stares at the sky.]
A: How long were you leader?
D: I was in guild leadership from October 1st, 1999.
A: What has been your favourite moment on Realms?
D: Oh goodness. There have been so many wonderful
events and opportunities over the years. I don't
think I can name just one.
A: What were your first thoughts when you were Immed?
D: I was shocked, [it] was overwhelming at first, to
the point I couldn't type for a few minutes.
[Darshanin blushes.]
----------------------------------------------------------------
Darshanin - by Alsyria Interviews
----------------------------------------------------------------
A: What do you enjoy about playing Realms?
D: The players and assisting in making the game fun
for as many people as possible.
A: What do you like to see happening in Realms?
D: People interacting and enjoying themseleves.
Whether it be through questing, RP, organizations...
just people having a good time together.
A: What do you dislike to see happening?
D: People sitting around saying 'I'm bored'. The
realms is what you make of it, and always something
to do, you just have to go do it.
A: What made you choose a Paladin as your main?
D: Definately the Guild of Paladins. They are a
wonderful group of people. If I wasn't addicted
before I joined there, I quickly became addicted
from being a member there.
A: What organisations were you a part of as a mortal?
D: that would be GoP, TS and IGQC.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Darshanin - by Alsyria Interviews
----------------------------------------------------------------
A: What was your favourite organisation?
D: And my fav org, no bias here, but again GoP. It is
there that I was taught everything I know, and
where all the doors opened for me to experience.
A: Are you enjoy your Immhood?
D: I'm really enjoying it, it's been a learning
experience.
A: What has been your favourite experience since
Imming?
D: It would have to be the same as when I was mortal,
working with mortals and immortals to assist in
making realms an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Eternally Bound - by Alysira EB
----------------------------------------------------------------
Well, it finally happened! After years of keeping our
ears in the rumour mill, and years of selfless hard
work from those Imms we adore so much...
On August the 18th 2002...Our world as we knew it
ended, and we were introduced to the world of post-
Shattering. With this world came many wonders; Dozens
of new areas for us to play in, hundreds of new mobs
to get aquainted with, two totally new classes, and
countless more changes which we just love.
Over the last few weeks, we were able to grab a few
moments of Immortal time to get to know our beloved
Immortals which made this whole game possible, and who
gave up their time to work on the wonderous Shattering.
So sit back, relax, and get to know your favourite Imm!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Adonia
----------------------------------------------------------------
Name : Adonia
Level : 56
Orgs : Deity of Arcanes, Neophyte Council
1. How long have you been playing Realms?
I've been playing for ... 8 years come December.
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
Somewhere around 7 years.
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
The people. I love meeting the new players, Imms
and mortals alike. It's so neat to get such a
different group of people from such different
backgrounds and homes together for one thing.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I like seeing how the players change over time. I
like seeing the changes that come in, both coding
and building. I definitely like seeing how the
game itself just changes and grows with each new
person that plays. It's quite fascinating.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Adonia
----------------------------------------------------------------
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
I enjoy interacting with the players, whatever the
reason. I really enjoy being deity of an order,
that has been one of the most fun things I've had
a chance to do. I like to help people out when
they're having a problem or just listen when they
want to discuss something. It's a really neat
feeling when I've helped someone or just given
someone an ear when they didn't expect it.
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Probably Innanna. She's got a pretty cool room to
sit in, she sees a lot of people come by, though I
don't think I'd like to be killed as often as she
is! Oh and she's an Amazon. I mean, what a neat
job! Pheayre thinks I'd be good at being "an
annoying little whiner" ... I'm not entirely sure
what that means ... :)
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
I've really enjoyed watching players -- who, for
the longest time have been feeling like they've
done it all, seen it all -- get out and explore
and just enjoy being a part of the game and RoD
community.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Adonia
----------------------------------------------------------------
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Not too often. I go through spurts where I try
but...anyone who knows me will tell you what a
terrible terrible terrible mortal I make ;)
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
For pure fun, I've always liked the "a crown of
lotus petals". However, I am quite attached to my
lifebanes, I'll be the first to admit.
10. What is your favourite area?
I'd have to say the Tree of Life. I have always
loved the Tree. It's just a really neat area. So
unique and so much fun to play in.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
The perfect day would start out with a quest.
Probably something where there was lots of death
and fun to be had by all. Then maybe some good
banter on Avchat and Immtalk. And perhaps helping
a newbie or even an experienced player with a
problem, such as a CR or a question. I guess just
a day of relaxing fun and excitement.

Eternally Bound - by Alysira Aeriel
----------------------------------------------------------------
Name : Aeriel
Level : 53
Orgs : Newbie Council
1. How long have you been playing Realms?
I began playing in mid - 1996, which is when a
friend started playing it at my house. I found it
intriguing, and thought I would try...one login,
and I was hooked! =)
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
I became an immortal on Realms on December 13,
2000.
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
It would have to be the people, I have made some
awesome friends here...as well as meeting my
husband here. I also like the fact that the
friends I have made here have been awesome...not
just online friends. We've met a few people r/l,
and they've been just as awesome in person as
online. =)
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I enjoy seeing the interaction of people here, you
can see some really hilarious and interesting
conversations on channels at times... And I also
really like seeing people helping each other out.
It is very rare nowadays for me to see someone
asking for help on channels and no one responding.
I think that's fantastic and speaks volumes about
our wonderful players.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Aeriel
----------------------------------------------------------------
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
An absolute favorite? That's a tough call, because
I enjoy most all facets of the job. I guess it
would be a toss-up between hosting pkills,
building, and helping out where I can.
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Harakiem, for several reasons. He sees some pretty
interesting things in that room, yet no one really
takes note of him, unless they decide they want to
kill him...something about hefting a huge sharp
axe and beheading people appeals to me when I am
stressed out. *grin*
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
I don't think I have just one particular favorite
thing about it...Everything looks awesome, and I
am truly impressed by the hard work and dedication
that was put into the project. You all are
awesome...you know who you are...and we thank you!
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Aeriel
----------------------------------------------------------------
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
No, I don't. I actually DO have a mortal alt, but
I just log her about once a month to keep her from
deleting....which reminds me, I need to do that.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Hands down, my wedding band from Adric. At one
point there was some sort of problem that made the
name go nuts on it...I freaked out about it.
That's the only piece of equipment that Aeriel
carries that I would ever worry about...it means
so much to me.
10. What is your favourite area?
I've always liked Coral Depths, personally. I just
think it is really neat, I like the way it was
written, and I like the way it was tied into the
Realms.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Hmmm, well, I guess that would be a day when no
one illegally pkills anyone else, or gets mad
because a name is denied, or no one causes a scene
on public channels. A day when everything went
totally smoothly, no bugs or crashes....but, if
that were to happen, a lot of us, me included,
would most likely be out of a job. *grin*

1. How long have you been playing Realms?
8 years.
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
7 years.
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
The people.. Well.. Some of them :)..
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
Fun new ways to abuse mortals! Hehe j/k.. I like
to see cool new code and areas come in that the
players like and use (whether it be a new command
for Imms only or a new area for players to
explore)...
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Coding.. but then anyone who knows me and likely
most that have only heard of me probably know this
anyways :)...
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Hmmm.. I've never had any desire to be a mob
actually..
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Altrag
----------------------------------------------------------------
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
How all the people who used to complain about
having nothing to do and begging for new areas/
skills/etc are now complaining that they don’t
know any of the areas/skills/etc :).. Ahhhh the
irony!
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Nope..
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Don't really have one.. unless you count some of
my equipment, but that’s all been modified so that
doesn’t really count :)...
10. What is your favourite area?
Don't really have one of those either :P...
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Well for me personally, finding a nifty bug that’s
been eluding us coders for a while is always nice
:).. Of course, its nicer to not have bugs that
are so elusive in the first place though :)..

note.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I like to see people helping each other out. I
like to see people out exploring and trying to
figure out new stuff. I like to see people use
words such as 'please' and 'thank-you'.
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Building.
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
I've always had a soft spot for Bahamut, so that
or perhaps a wandering priest.

Eternally Bound - by Alysira Ceirana
----------------------------------------------------------------
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
There are so many fine changes that came with the
Shattering, it is pretty difficult to select any
one thing. Scan all is pretty cool. I think the
Asgard concept is pretty neat. I like how the
classes are all more individualistic now in terms
of spells and skills. So many new areas came in
also, I haven't gotten about to all of them yet
but have seen enough to know there is a lot of
really spiffy stuff out there. I love the druid
slist with all the old Celtic/Gaelic names for the
spells. Having align-based slists for some classes
is very interesting also. Lots of newness.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
I try to keep current with the mortal side of
things but it can be difficult.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
I love the organ in GOC. Also the mystic eye of
foresight, and fish-ka-bobs

----------------------------------------------------------------
10. What is your favourite area?
My favourite area is one that isn't ported yet :)
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Perfect day as an immortal.. hmm.. toughie.
Several things come to mind... building when
feeling truly inspired and having all the progs
work exactly as intended without bugging and
without spending hours and hours on it :) Either
that or dicing with a few other Imms who shall
remain nameless lest their reputations become
tarnished :)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Cersei
----------------------------------------------------------------
Name : Cersei
Level : 56
Orgs : Deity of MaidenStone
1. How long have you been playing Realms?
I think it was around 5 years ago now that I
started, and since I got hooked straight away,
well that was the beginning of rather a few hours
online!
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
I think Alzheimer’s is setting in. 2 years, 3
years? Something like that. I Imm'd right after
Luc, and a few months after Iliana and Elisabet.
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
The people. Whatever neat code, whatever flaws
with mobs, whatever beautiful areas. The people
make the game, both mortal and immortal, and it
the respect and affection that I have for the
people who use Realms, that keeps me coming back.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
People being kind rather than slapping each other
down. People policing themselves and keeping the
peace rather than immortals having to do it.
People enjoying themselves, again mortal or
immortal. Its good to see people happy.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Cersei
----------------------------------------------------------------
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Promoting people to Immortalhood was pretty good
fun actually. It was hard to do it with a straight
face sometimes as we'd tease them so. Other than
that I guess its being deity of MaidenStone.
They're a great collection of people and I enjoy
their company.
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Wow, tough question. Reminds me of my Newbie
Council interview. I think the Inahir hunt leader,
but I'm biased there. I think Zelah gets a lot of
company, so maybe her?
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
Seeing the hard work of my fellow immortals being
appreciated by a wider community. I think there
were only a few people who understood exactly how
much work had gone into that project, and I was
certainly blown away by it, even after having
worked on it myself. It’s really good to see
appreciation for their labours after keeping it
all secret for so long.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Not as often as I'd like, and usually only to
roleplay.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Cersei
----------------------------------------------------------------
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
The birthday present Moonbeam and Kali gave me a
while ago. Which is top secret and only useful for
taunting older brothers. For easily obtained items,
It’s hard to go past a slice of pizza. Warm,
filling, and tasty.
10. What is your favourite area?
Well it was New Thalos. MaidenStone headquarters
probably takes pride of place as it’s easy enough
for me to find my way around in (I only get lost
twice a week) and the level of detail is superb.
Kudos to Circe there.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Being able to log on and say hello to all the
people I like. The time zone thing is a pain there
but if I can catch up with a few people that I'm
fond of, well it's hard for things to go downhill.
It's nice to get praise for hard work, especially
from other Immortals, but this isn't always easy
to come by. Like I said, the best thing about the
game is the people. Oh on second thought, it’s
been very good to see lots of promotions lately.
Knowing how hard someone's worked, and seeing that
rewarded, is a great feeling. I think its been a
great way of showing both the immortals in
question, and the players, how much their work has
meant to the game. That's been a really bonus of
the Shattering.

Eternally Bound - by Alysira Conran
----------------------------------------------------------------
Name : Conran
Level : 54
Orgs : Deity of Surreptus, Visionary Consortium
1. How long have you been playing Realms?
Since June or July of 1996.
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
Since the beginning of 2002
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
The people. I can play text games alone, but the
thing that keeps me coming back is without a doubt
all of the cool people I've met here :)
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I like watching people have fun, after all that’s
why we're here :) I find a lot of the time that
you can see this on people’s first runs, watching
people level their first ever character, or on a
lot of the quests that are run, so I try to join
in with those or watch whenever I can.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Conran
----------------------------------------------------------------
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
My favourite duty is voting on all of the
proposals that come before Visionary Consortium.
Before I Imm’d, I was a member of The Symposium,
and have always loved being a part of making
changes to the game.
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
I'd love to be the Black Monk, screaming about
death and destruction to anybody walking by, but
since he's not in the game anymore, I'd choose to
be Rychard the banker, surrounded by all that
money would be really cool.
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
My favourite part about The Shattering is that the
game has been largely rearranged and rewritten, in
terms of areas and such, so there’s an entire game
for everybody to explore, including people who
have been playing 5+ years.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Yes I do :)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Conran
----------------------------------------------------------------
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Probably the spinning top, it's kept me
entertained for many hours ;) They're really fun
when you have 10 or so at the same time...
10. What is your favourite area?
Midway of Despair, it may not have been opened
that many times while I was online, but its
something very different and there’s always
something new and fun to play with in there :)
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Funnily enough, I'd say the perfect day was a
quiet one. Not that I don't love seeing spam of
course, but it means nobody is getting their
behind handed to them by a mob, they're not having
problems getting help, that they are busy working
out some puzzle or exploring an area. Basically,
it seems that when the place is quiet, people are
having a great time :)

3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
The people who play, and all the things there are
to do.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I like seeing people get out and do stuff, like
exploring or running or leveling, and generally
contributing by helping in some way, be it on
channels or through their organizations.
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Being an Imm :>
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Destre
----------------------------------------------------------------
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
That tried and true realms citizen, the Froghemoth.
Get to hop around all day, waiting for daring
adventurers to say ribbit, croaking on channels,
showing any run team they had better be ready
*flex* :>
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
The upgrading of the Nephandi, plus we got a whole
new world to explore.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Not as much as I would like.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Whatever I need at the moment.
10. What is your favourite area?
Any area that doesn’t have a huge killer maze,
since I always get lost in mazes.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Logging on, coffee in hand, and finding everyone
in a good mood, not taking life’s frustrations out
on the Realms population.

Eternally Bound - by Alysira Elisabet

Name : Elisabet

1. How long have you been playing Realms?
I will have been playing Realms for 4 years this
October.
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
I have been an immortal for 2 years.
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
Without a doubt, the people.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I enjoy watching people who are truly delighted by
finding something new in an area; liking a quest
for the quest, not just because it offers glory as
a prize; I also truly enjoy seeing the friendships
that can develop.
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
My favorite duty as an immortal is being a member
Of QC. I love making quests that people can enjoy.

6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Hmm.. any mob? I think I'd like to be Harakiem...
just think of all the people he "meets."
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
My favorite thing about the Shattering is the
entire newness of it all. All sorts of new places
to explore and find little trinkets.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
I never used to log my mortals, but I have every
day since the shattering.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Purely for sentimental reasons, a desert rose.
10. What is your favourite area?
My favorite area that I have explored since the
shattering that I just love is Thul Ab'hara.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Heh, tough one to answer because of the many
aspects of being an Imm. I would have to say
perfect days include ones in which everyone gets
along, plays fair, and no one feels threatened or
harassed.

1. How long have you been playing Realms?
Eight years.
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
Six and a half years.
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
I have a very hard time picking favorites in most
categories. For me, it is probably the history.
The Realms exists in its current state due to a
densely packed combination of past events,
personalities and conflicts that no one knows in
totality. The entity that Realms has become, and
the casual effects of that, is something I find
fascinating.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
Mayhem.
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Causing mayhem.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Kali
----------------------------------------------------------------
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Ravenhill. Free Seth equipment.
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
That we actually managed to pull it off.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Whenever I have the time available, yes.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
It hasn't been found yet. Of known items, probably
Darkfire weapons.
10. What is your favourite area?
Abattoir Asylum
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Spending the entire day building and managing to
transpose everything in my mind into text with
complete ease. Cap it off with a streak of
genocide and it would be pretty perfect.

2. How long have you been an Immortal?

3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
The diversity of experiences.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
More realism to areas.
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Building areas and interacting with the other
players.
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
There's a mob that Selina and I made in the east/
west roads that is a highwayman.. He's a tad
insane. I think insanity is highly under-rated.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Kinux
----------------------------------------------------------------
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
The new geography. I like the fact that it
actually makes sense now!
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Not as often as I'd like, and usually on players
that people don't know. So.. that new fellow you
are running with [might] just be me!
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Hasn't been found yet.. ;)
10. What is your favourite area?
I have a soft spot for one area in particular that
I was involved in writing (no names), but other
than that I'd have to say Dunhill.. It's one of
those areas that made me want to be a builder. :)
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Every day's been great! ;)

1. How long have you been playing Realms?
I've been playing since 1995.. maybe 1996..
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
I think I've been immortal about 3 years with a
brief hiatus. (Which Stoneheft took as his
opportunity to promote like crazy so I'll never be
able to silence him again!)
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
My favourite thing about Realms remains the
opportunities I get to help people experience the
wonder, humour, beauty and exhilaration that is
our world.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Loril
----------------------------------------------------------------
4. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Perhaps my favourite duty as an immortal, strange
as it might seem, is when I'm called to a dispute.
Every situation is unique yet beneath it all we're
all here for similar reasons. I try to help people
see another's viewpoint. In many ways of course,
this is also the most difficult duty because it
can't be done, ever, on autopilot. Next to that,
and very much related, is my position as a Newbie
Council immortal. Here are a group of volunteers
who give up their time, and their own hard-earned
cash! finding ways to coach our new players
through the million and one things they have to
learn in order to begin having fun. I try to
remind people of the 'Council' in the title.
They're so much more than sources of lights and CR
assistance. They are councilors and that takes
more time, patience and insight than any few lines
of text could ever sum-up.
5. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
I'd like to be ol' Jeremiah for a day. Sitting on
a sunny rock, sharing a bit of peace and some
mighty fine wine. Does it get any better? :)
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Loril
----------------------------------------------------------------
6. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
My favourite aspect of The Shattering is twofold.
Our phenomenal coders have given our builders so
many new tools to whet their creativity. There are
little touches here and there already which many
mortals have yet to experience! I was fortunate to
have spent a lot of time with a small portion of
the builder population through the creation of our
new world. It was like watching kids in a toy
store. Now, watching people find these little
touches, and see the result is such a thrill.
Knowing that these new tools from the coders have
the builders still thinking of cool new ways to
implement.. Much more is yet to come!
7. Do you often play as a Mortal?
I play as a mortal every chance I get but recently
there hasn't been as much time. I'll get back to
it, though because just like everyone else, my
mortals have _bunches_ of things to experience and
I can hardly wait to explore at length again.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Eternally Bound - by Alysira Loril
----------------------------------------------------------------
8. What is your favourite item in the game?
My favourite item..? It's sort of a tie between
two sticks, strangely enough. The wooly on a stick
and the pointed stick. I'll leave it at that. ;)
9. What is your favourite area?
My favourite area has to be the Southern Mountains
geo and specifically the town of Edel. Many
reasons there. You need to look closely at the
place to see why. :)
10. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
A perfect day as an immortal would be a day when
I've managed to read every board I need to read,
then written every note I'm supposed to write,
manage to find a good answer for every question
I'm asked and still drink a flagon of a good ale.

3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
Watching the culmination of years of work come to
fruition to form a successful game. When in doubt,
type who 1.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I enjoy change.. not change to screw anyone but
change to shake things up, try something new. This
becomes increasingly difficult with such a large
player base but it's still possible to add life to
RoD, and we have a great team of immortals to make
it happen.
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Making Blodkai Vote.

Divine Ret - She's just the epitome of cool to me.
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
That it's finally done.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
Not as often as I would like but enough to keep in
touch.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Darkfire Thrasher - Every girl needs a good whip.
10. What is your favourite area?
Tower of despair.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an

3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
Meeting and getting to know people from all walks
of life.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
Greater cooperation between fellow players. An

at understanding different opinions and views
(open-mindedness!). A reduction in the so-called
"barriers" put up because of association with an
organization.
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Hard to say. At the moment, I'm trying my hand at
code, so that's kinda fun.

6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Supermob! Just 'cuz.
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
Seeing players excited about the game again. Years
of work coming to fruition for those involved in
the port.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
On and off. It depends on the spare time I have
available between classes and what not.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Stoneheft's cup of bubble tea and its associated
bubble tea straw launcher. *egrin*
10. What is your favourite area?
Dragon's Pass.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
Calling a day "perfect" in the life of an Immortal
is few and far between IMHO... however, if I know
put my best into whatever I'm doing and there are
genuine expressions of enjoyment on the faces of
the players, I'd call it all worth the effort.

8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
I try to at least once a week.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
I don't have a favourite one.
10. What is your favourite area?
When I first Av'd I always thought it was neat all
the things you had to do to get to Brakky, so
Raven Tor would be it.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an

Keeping active by helping people, not having
someone being a jerk to someone else, getting some
work done on whatever I am building and perhaps
help plan something.

1. How long have you been playing Realms?
I'm guessing 7 years.
2. How long have you been an Immortal?
I'm guessing a little over 4 years
3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
Prior to the Shattering, I was impressed with the
quality of the areas. Since the Shattering, I'm
amazed by the enormity as well as the quality.
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I'd like to see it continue to grow as it always
has, in size, functionality and devoted player
base. I'm quite pleased seeing that there are some
people encouraging other players to become self-
sufficient as opposed to the onslaught of
formulaic types who are going to cause spam
forever. I think we have a lot of really awesome
people playing the mud.

5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
Cleaning the stables in the Darkhaven Petshop.
Well, that or building.
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Any of the bartenders. People are always happy to
do business with a bartender and they make great
money.
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
Well my selfish answer to that is that it allowed
me to get a couple of areas that I'm really proud
of into the game. On the greater scheme of things,
however, I have to say that I love how the
Shattering makes our world so huge that we've all
got more years of exploring do and people won't
"Finish The Game" and decide they have nothing
left to do so soon anymore.

8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
From time to time.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Perhaps the Avatar's Scroll, but the quotations on
it need to be updated. Very few people remember
those who are quoted.
10. What is your favourite area?
Maybe Dunhill, it takes forever to figure it out
and you're never sure you're done.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
A nice quiet day where you can actually spend most
of your time working on improving the mud for
everyone rather than having to deal with selfish
individuals who don't want to figure out their own
problems and need a lot of "Hand Holding" while
they read the help files.

3. What is your favourite thing about Realms?
Mortals dying at my hand, that is without a doubt
my favourite moments :)
4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
What do I like seeing? People praising the great

case! I'd be a cute bunny, and cuddle up with
people! It's easier to cuddle if you're not a big
fat cow.
7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
The Shattering diversified the classes. The
introduction of secondary stats couldn't have been
a better thing. There is also much more to explore,
which is a big plus. As for Nephs, they are useful!
(finally)
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
I mort often, oui oui!

other area with dragons!
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
My perfect day - no swearing on channels, and
massive deaths because someone triggered something
super-nasty on a mob a built causing over 15
deaths at once :)

which would you be? Why?
Puff the Fractal Dragon, because she is the one

4. What are some things you like seeing happen here?
I love seeing people helping their fellow players
out - comes from being an NC'er, I guess :)
5. What is your favourite duty as an Immortal?
I love anything involving the players... if I'm
not scolding them. ;) I guess 'answering questions'
would be my favourite duty. :)
6. If you could be any mob in the game for a day,
which would you be? Why?
Harakiem, because he meets everyone! Or Sonoria,
maybe... ;)

7. What is your favourite thing about The Shattering?
I was amazed at how wonderful the older players
were about it... I really expected to hear a lot
of whining and complaining (hey, change is hard on
everyone!), but they all pitched in and really
stuck together.
8. Do you often play as a Mortal?
No... not as much as I should.
9. What is your favourite item in the game?
Lollipops! Pure sugar!
10. What is your favourite area?
Dunhill... it still is the most beautiful area on
the game to me.
11. How would you describe the perfect day as an
Immortal?
A perfect day to me would be when I could answer
every question, be allowed to do every request,
and have time to talk to people on the game. No
one would harass anyone, there would be no illegal
pkills or swearing or bashing on channels, and
everyone would help everyone with CRs... and
Rfjkdsla in pre-auth wouldn't whine about not
getting auth’d! ;)

To Ceirana and Kinux,
Ceirana, thank you for all the work you've put into
getting the guilds ready for the big upgrade. Your
work and efforts were well appreciated by Edmond and
all the guild leaders, I'm sure of it. Your promotion
to overseer was well earned. Congratulations.
Kinux, your experiences as guild leader have been
invaluable along the way counseling other guild
leaders who may come to you with various questions.
Thanks go to you for the hard work and help you've
given Ceirana along the way when slight corrections
had to be made in various guilds after the big upgrade.
Congratulations on becoming Ceirana's assistant.
To both of you, I extend the heartfelt thanks of the
Guild of Thieves. You are always available and ready
to help with whatever requests we send your way. Ideas

Overworked and underpaid one might say
They set our ranks and our leaders
So we might keep our boards a tad bit neater
Up so early and on so late, eyes swollen to oranges
But they're the oil on our squeaky door hinges
Reading our notes, listening to us and coding, even at
night
Just to set our guilds just right
They draw long shifts and are around all the time
Help me think of just one more rhyme?
A friendly hand to help us up, after slipping on the

Many thanks to you, Kinux and Ceirana

On behalf of the Guild of Rangers, I would like to
thank all of the Imms who over the last few years,
have put so much effort turning the Shattering into
reality. From Thoric down the wizlist, you all had to
do your part to make this happen.
GoR would really like to point out the contribution we
got from four of these Imms in help remodel our tree.
Ceirana for stepping up to bat, and getting our stew
approved, even when others might have thought the idea
was not medieval enough.
Kinux for being there for all the little jobs, which
left Ceirana free to do all the work she put into the
new guilds while we could not see her.
Edmond, you started the whole process of remodeling
the guilds, not seeming to know where it might lead or
how much work it would involve. Without you, none of
this would have been possible!

remodeled our Vallenwood Tree. Even surprising us with
a couple little additions of your own.
Thanks for everything Imms, this is a great new world,

Order Tributes MS
----------------------------------------------------------------
The role of an administrator is often both a trying
and unappreciated one,
an experience every immortal has dealt with regularly.
Through spam and often hefty workloads, the immortals
have managed to put forth their effort in order to
help the Realms prosper as much as it can. This is
certainly no exception to the immortals of MaidenStone,
who have undergone hours of stress and many projects
solely for the betterment of the order. Cersei and
Aeriel consistently give both their guidance and
strength to the order, with only the selfless goal
of helping MaidenStone become an even stronger
organization. It is unfortunate that their hard work
often goes without the recognition it warrants, as
their good counsel and personalities are both valuable
and irreplaceable.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Order Tributes MS
----------------------------------------------------------------
On behalf of the members of MaidenStone, the leaders
wish to extend their most sincere and appreciative
thanks to both Cersei and Aeriel for upholding the
ideals of an excellent member: strength, commitment,
energy, wisdom, and most of all compassion. Their
advice, input, and amazing administrative skills have
enriched the order and filled it with vivacity. Their
tenderness and care for each individual member has
further established the sisterhood MaidenStone holds
so sacred.
To Cersei and Aeriel - thank you for an amazing job
well done.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Order Tributes Baali
----------------------------------------------------------------
We once saw her as a leader, the pillar in the chaos
of our order, the strength that drove us to expand our
evil throughout the realms. She was our mother, her
embrace tainted slightly by the love that she forever
held for us as her children. She was in front of us
when we charged off into battle and behind us when we
were on trial for our deeds within the nations. She
wielded a certain type of charm that washed away
doubts and fears. She possessed a power that can only
be named by those within our walls that knew her then
and see her now. After numerous battles within and
beyond our walls, something happened that no one had
expected, something came about then to the surprise to
all of us. The mortal body that was our mother, our
leader, our driving force, died away and was reborn
anew.
She became Immortal.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Order Tributes Baali
----------------------------------------------------------------
Shocking as this was upon our very souls, we had no
choice but to accept this change that fate had placed
before us. The magics of the Gods could not be undone
in this matter, not even by the Baali. For a time it
seemed as if she had abandoned us and our ways, but
never did she faulter, never did she stop striving for
us, though we could not see this and we did not always
know. And for this change we did mourn. We mourned her
as we have never mourned any one or any thing, for our
leader was now out of our reach and now change would
reign within the walls that had seemed forever stable
and solid. And then...
Something else that we did not intend. Scorn and
hatred directed towards the world at first began to
turn inward and the darkness and chaos that was Baali
begot a new Baali, and our hearts begin to mend in the
only way they could, differently for each of us. And
yet, her presence was still ever strong, ever ebbing
and vibrating within our walls, sometimes almost
deafening with words of mere silence. But she was
there. And we could see her.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Order Tributes Baali
----------------------------------------------------------------
After many years under the dark touch of our very
missed Lord Taboo and the fetching of fresh blood, the
seduction of new entities to join the Swarm, the
things that were nearly became nothing more than
legend. Immortals and mortals alike, came and went,
but those of us that are the heart of Baali, those of
us that are true to the Swarm stayed, gutting out the
unhappy times and the unwary attitudes with the faint
memory of time past and we taught the new of our old
ways, and the things that were Baali lived on with the
new generations. The new generations did not know of
our missed pillar of strength... not until times
changed again. By some twist of fate did she return
to us.
Baali shattered long ago, but then so did the world,
and it seemed after all these things, the pieces that
were both had been sewn back into place by many and
then so few. After both so many are missed, so many
mourned, but as time marches on and the wheel of fate
spins, the one that has been mourned the most by the
Swarm was finally granted a return. Not as our leader,
but as our Deity.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Order Tributes Baali
----------------------------------------------------------------
And Baali rejoiced, for now the lessons of time and
change have permeated us, teaching us that all things
must change and that patience is a virtue never to be
forgotten.
Her leaving made us mourn, her return gave us strength
and hope. Her deeds with us and away from us have not
gone unnoticed and we thank her for all she has done.
On behalf of Baali, I make my voice be heard. Iliana,
we were very proud to have your as our leader and now
as our Deity. You have accomplished so very much in
your short time as an immortal here, both for the
realms and for us. For everything you have done, are
doing, and will do in the future, we thank you. Thank
you for gutting it out with us.
Taboo, even though you are no longer our Deity, we
still consider you part of our family, you were a most
evil Deity fitting our theme more than you could ever
know.

Who are the Imm's Favorite Imms - by Ganemanoimu Fav
----------------------------------------------------------------
Well, you all know what you and your fellow friends
think of Immortals. Now how do imms see their own
colleagues? So, we penned the question, Who is your
favorite immortal and why? Seemingly an easy answer,
some immortals struggled to find a favorite one,
while others couldn't pick a single one. All would like
to point out, that there are so many people that make
so many different contributions, that it wasn't fair to
force them to pick one. However, we tried to make
them do just that and this is what we came up with.
Shargate: I'd have to go with either Kali for just
general witticisms...Or Darrek for typically great
titles ;)
Raltaris: Edmond, since when I first started playing
here he was a great role model and someone to look up
to. He does amazing work, hence why he is now in the
CoE I guess.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Who are the Imm's Favorite Imms - by Ganemanoimu Fav
----------------------------------------------------------------
Tical: If I had to pick one I would have to say
Moonbeam, I really think she is the most dedicated
person here, she does like EVERYTHING and she keeps
everything in order for the rest of us. She rocks...:)
Destre: My favorite imm is Tiki because she is such a
lovely person and always ready to help everyone.
Selina: Hmm... That's a hard one... I have people who I
am closer to as friends, and others who I would go to
if had a problem. I consider many of the immortals my
close friends and can rely on them for almost anything
I need help with. When I have a problem and need the
advice of someone, I go to Ceirana because she is
always willing to listen and to help me figure out a
solution.
Ceirana: I'd definitely say Edmond, because he's a
mover and shaker and gets the job done. He's competent
with every aspect of the game and responds quickly to
questions and problems. I would also like to mention
Selina for sheer online marathon and workload also,
she is amazing :)

A Special Thank You - by Moonbeam TY
----------------------------------------------------------------
When I heard this month’s edition was to be a tribute
to immortals, I decided it was about time we paid
tribute to someone who doesn’t get appreciated enough.
Blodkai has been my mentor, my idol, and my friend for
almost 6 years and there are no words to express how
invaluable he is to his peers and this game. Without
him, I personally would have faded out years ago (so
yes he’s partially to blame for my still being around).
I asked around the ranks for thoughts about him and
here’s what other immortals had to say:
Pheayre:
To the imm that shares an interest in Blowpipe anti-
tank missiles and high-performance fighters! You rock!
Adonia:
First off, I think Blodkai's a great great GREAT imm.
He's always been one of the imms who has helped me the
most with any problem whenever I have needed it.
Tiki:
Blodkai's mind amazes me... it never stops. He throws
out ideas so fast that I can hardly keep up with him.
----------------------------------------------------------------
A Special Thank You - by Moonbeam TY
----------------------------------------------------------------
Altrag:
He's almost 20k years old.. that's pretty cool :P
Thalasian:
Blodkai rocks! He's patient (obviously) and incredibly
dedicated to the MUD.
Dria:
I will always be grateful to Blodkai most of all for
showing patience in the face of idiocy, namely mine.
When I was learning about mob programs and smaugspells
he was a fantastic resource, it seemed like he knew
everything!
Stoneheft:
Blodkai accomplishes everything he says he will.
Everything he does works well.
Conran:
I admire Blodkai for both his dedication and
creativity. If you need his help, he's always happy to
do whatever he can as soon as he can, and every time
I've spoken to him he has amazed me with his
spontaneous great ideas for the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------
A Special Thank You - by Moonbeam TY
----------------------------------------------------------------
Aeriel:
I admire him for his sense of fairness and his ability
to be reasonable....as well as his patience. He's
awesome.
Herne:
Blodkai: When Blod says 'That's interesting, I'll have
to try that...' Be afraid
Ceirana:
I think the best thing about Blodkai is that he has
managed to remain an enigma after all these years.
Blodkai is shrouded in a certain sense of mystery,
which lends itself very well to the Realm and his
position in it.
Myra:
I can always count on Blodkai to say some of the most
absurd things that make me smile. Blodkai has a tough
outer image that I'll never betray, but inside, he's
the big brother I always wanted.
----------------------------------------------------------------
A Special Thank You - by Moonbeam TY
----------------------------------------------------------------
Kali:
I have known and worked with Blodkai for years, as a
mortal and an immortal. Every compliment that had
been paid to him about his solomonic wisdom, absurd
humour and monolithic stature are true and deserved.
He has irrevocably changed the mud in ways few people
will ever know or understand. But above everything, I
will always think of him first and foremost as a
friend. Oh, and ‘Chicks Dig Him’.
It is impossible to sum up into words the value of
the contributions he has made to RoD in his time as an
immortal but this was a small peek into the man, the
myth and the legend. On behalf of the Immortal staff,
I’d like to thank Blodkai for sharing with us his
wisdom, his wide breadth of knowledge and his
invaluable sense of humor. You’re truly great.

Dear Myra and Ilsensine - by Myra + Ilsensine M+I
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Myra and Ilsensine,
I think that there are people out to get me. I promise
that I'm not paranoid or anything, but I swear that some
people are purposefully mean to me or try to get me to say
bad things just so I'll look bad. What should I do?
-Scared Silly
Dear Scared Silly,
I am sure that no one is out to get you. If you honestly
think that these people have a problem with you, then take a
moment to calmly talk things over with them. I am positive
that there is a perfectly logical explanation for all of
this. Just remember to stay calm. Getting over excited or
losing your temper will solve nothing.

Dear Myra and Ilsensine - by Myra + Ilsensine M+I
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Scared Silly,
Uh oh. Myra doesn't seem to think this is a serious
situation?!! Are you going to let her talk to you (well not
really to you, but hey) like that? I know I wouldn't. This
is a clear-cut case of 'Everyone Sucks And Must Die'
disorder. There is only one solution. You must sneak out to
a moat at 4 am, clad only in a turban and clashing papoose.
At the appointed time, in the correct clothing, scream the
words, 'I really really... don't like you!' It may be hard
to find this much vehemence and passion within your being,
but once you find it, you'll quickly find that all your
enemies will be turned into cartoon jello moulds. (Spoons
not included)

Dear Myra and Ilsensine - by Myra + Ilsensine M+I
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Myra and Ilsensine,
Sometimes I have a tendency to say things too quickly and
not think about them first. It has gotten me into trouble
sometimes and now I find myself worried about what other
people think of me because of it. Can I make it up to any
of them?
-Foot-in-mouth
Dear Foot-in-mouth,
I think that we all suffer from this sometimes. I call it
reacting versus responding. A reaction is often a reflex
and involves little to no thought. A response considers
thinking before speaking or acting. In my opinion, it's
never too late to "turn around." You can start by
apologizing to those that you think you may have hurt.
Beyond that, try responding instead of reacting when you
talk to people or on channels. Best of luck!
-M
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Myra and Ilsensine - by Myra + Ilsensine M+I
----------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Foot-in-mouth,
I feel that the question is not so much of prevention
and damage limitation... but more a matter of
accepting and loving the part of yourself that insists
on awkwardly cramming those feet in your mouth. Have
you considered using a peppermint and sage foot lotion
to make the experience more pleasurable? Perhaps you
could even try shoving your feet in other people's
mouths? Thus giving them the unique delight of your
fragrant footsies on their delicate palates, as well
as having the most useful side effect of shutting them
up for a good bit. (Corn plasters not included)

It is with a heavy heart that Myra and Ilsensine
announce the indefinite suspension of Dear M+I. As
Myra takes on her duties of being an Immortal, she
may at some time in the future be able to devote time
to the CoD and the Queen of Ice. However, until that
time, know that she will miss her role as the Queen of
nice.

Voices of the Realms Voices
----------------------------------------------------------------
Varied are the races of the Realms, and so are they
unique. Each brings their own aspect to the world.
Elves grace us with their dignity and pride. The drow
remind us of the darkness within us all. The dwarves
burrow and craft, and the halflings foster hidden
depths. Pixies? Pixies are many things.
Pixies are the mischief, the colour, the joy of the
world. Do you know where pixies come from? On dew-
soaked nights, with the moon shining high in the sky,
blossoms open. Fragrant, colourful, baby pixies emerge.
Their delicate wings spread, drying in the breeze. The
young pixies crouch on petals, eyes wide, absorbing
the vastness of the world. Then a spark lights in
their eyes, and they launch themselves, reveling in
flight, free to spread pixie spirit.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Voices of the Realms Voices
----------------------------------------------------------------
Pixies have not always had that spark, however. Many
aeons ago, when pixies lived in the forests of Kontaur,
a sacred and secret flame burned, in a secluded glade.
Pixies came to dance in the fire, for it burned them
not, but nourished their spirit.
A most powerful and reclusive sorcerer lived in the
forests. Disturbed by the rustlings and yips and yells
of the pixies, he ensorcelled the flame and stole it
away. No longer could the pixies delight in its warm
embrace, and slowly the joy faded from the pixies.
They lost their spriteliness, and instead trudged
disconsolately, or cowered in the depths of the woods.
The spark had gone.
Other races found that, unexpectedly, the mischief of
the pixies was part of their lives. No longer were
they taunted to tears; instead, they were bored to
tears. Colour faded, until all seemed brown and grey.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Voices of the Realms Voices
----------------------------------------------------------------
The almighty Thoric gazed upon his creation, and saw
the drabness and despair. He cast potent spells upon
the mean sorcerer, and banished him to Limbo. The
sorcerer fought valiantly, even transforming himself
into a dragon, but he could not escape Thoric's wrath.
He lingers on in Limbo to this day.
It shone down like a gentle moonbeam, and cast its
blessing onto every pixie it touched. The pixies
danced once more, and shouted with joy, for the flame
was now in them! The flame could never be stolen again,
because every pixie had their own spark.
Every pixie, that is, except those hiding in the
deepest part of the woods. The light could not reach
these pixies. These pixies became dark and twisted,
and now fuel their life by performing dark deeds.
This imbalance meant that colour never truly returned
to the Realms. Thus the sorcerer left a dark and
despairing mark on the world, truly a monument to
aspire to.
The End.
Jexia Galleta.

Equality
For every angel, there is a demon.
For every shadow, there is a light.
For every lawbreaker, there is a law.
For every left, there is a right.
Both must be present, in every sense,
Otherwise neither will ever be strong.
Some say the world should be happy and right,
But always some part is unhappy and wrong.
Some will believe that I'm speaking the truth,
Others will not, and will all disagree.
But only if simple equality's kept
Will everyone's soul be finally free.

The Big Blue Room
You blink your eyes at the sudden increase in light.
The room seems to expand limitlessly in all directions.
Walking down the narrow path, you come to a small gate
set in a white picket fence. A mailbox sits to one
side, a nameplate on the front. The name on the
nameplate is...yours?!? Ahhhhhhh!
Exits - Reality
Reality
Face it, Create Food just isn't going to work... Go to
the supermarket, do some shopping. Maybe that will get
rid of the irate flatmates that none of your spells
seem to affect. Or maybe...That white box in the
corner calls your name once more, time to go level!

Fantasy
Ah, the sweet smell of ASCII flowers in the morning.
Hungry? Just create a mushroom and chow down. Thirsty,
draw a pretty circle on the ground and up pops a
spring. Something pissing you off? Spell it down and
kill it. But wait, what's that strange smell? Burning
plastic? Are you running the mini fridge off the same
power box as your computer, TV, Playstation, stereo
and microwave again?
Exits - Darkness
Darkness
Oh dear, you've done it again. The only thing saving
you is the fact your flatmates can't find you in the
dark. Oh well, time to cast Infravision, find that
extension cord, and go break into the neighbours again.

Anorac: MmMmMmm creamed cheese..
Morrandir: ack..that reminds me.,....I need to put
clothes in the dryer
Morgianya: it's not like the cheese you put on your
bagels, it's like ricotta and cottage cheese
Anorac: What reminds you of putting clothes in the dryer?
Morrandir: cream cheese
Leala: cheese?
Anorac: ...
Morgianya: Glad to have helped.
Amoria:: hmm
Joanne: you are so strange :p
Amoria:: I'm not asking.
Morrandir: when I make cheesecake....I soften the
cream cheese bricks in the dryer
Amoria:: ermm
Anorac: Eww
Leala: eww
Amoria:: laugh
Myra: massaging them softens as well
Morrandir: I leave them in the box, y'all
Leala: eww anyhow
Morgianya: So does putting it in the blender.
Leala: microwave

Joanne: lol morgi
Myra: inside the box is a foil wrapper
Amoria:: that's funny... I can see it... it's the
perpetual bachelor speaking, you must remember.
Morrandir: nah...I'd prefer to have my hands free to
massage other things.....much better use of
my time
Myra: still not pleasant for the dryer
Leala: pardon me while I go give my cream cheese a
massage... ?
Joanne: actually, i think its rather cute
Anorac: '
Joanne: morrandir making cheesecake
Leala: I can see doing that a dinner party :)
Amoria:: at least he doesn't put T.V. dinners in there...
Morrandir: screw the dryer....I ain't feelin up my
cream cheese
Anorac: Clothes?
Morgianya: It's not like the thing has feelings.
Amoria:: lol y'all lost me way back there. :P
Morrandir: well....I'm sure if one ever ruptured, I'd
never do it again
Anorac: she's afraid if she massaged her cream cheese
she'd have to make a commitment..

Amoria:: you mean dryer or cheese?
Leala: rofl
Anorac: cheese in the dryer..
Anorac: how funny is that...
Morgianya: Well it makes for easy cleanup?
Morrandir: no....I'm just worried that my cream cheese
might want to cuddle afterwards if I paid
it too much attention.....and I'd just
probably want to go to sleep
Morgianya: And as we all know, that's what guys like the best.
Anorac: what?
Morgianya: The day cream cheese develops the ability
to feel, I'm complaining to the FDA.
Morrandir: if I'm not arrested first.....
Morgianya: Headline: Avid RoD player arrested for
indecent assault upon his cream cheese.

Riddle Me This - by Elisabet Quests
----------------------------------------------------------------
This month's quest was to design a riddle that was
solvable and submit it to the Cry. These are the top 3
riddles that were picked by a panel of Immortals.
Your mission - Solve these riddles! Please mudmail
Elisabet your riddle answers, no later than Midnight
EST on October 23. You do not need to answer all 3.
Three winners will be randomly chosen out of all
correct answers.
1. Born of blood from good and evil;
Ascended from a godly trickle
Evil of heart and strong of will
Life is his to take and spill.
2. Nestled in his stalwart fort
Guarded by a dark cohort,
On a throne of mighty evil
Sits the dark lord at his vigil.
3. A soaring creature of flight
Without the implied absence of light
Glorious shouts of fight and might
The foundation of this wondrous sight
Congratulations to Ilfadir and Simone who's riddles
were chosen. Good job to all who submitted, and good
luck to all of those who will try and answer.
As always, if you have questions, ask, don't assume.

The Cracked Cask
How long have you been offering your services?
The new casino opened up in February of this year.
What types of gambling services do you offer?
There are slots, blackjack, and high stakes slots.
Other games are available on request, such as Roulette,
single and multi-player poker. Delanna and Shealah
host slots, Vitarla hosts Black Jack, and Damayanti
hosts the high stakes slots.
What types of auction services do you offer?
Orestes acts as an agent to buy, sell, or auction
items. She also acts as a bank. Deposits over a
specified amount pay interest. Minimum deposit for
interest is 10 million coins, and the rate is
currently 0.25%. The maximum interest deposit is 750
million coins. Interest is paid weekly, based on an
average daily balance. Orestes can handle amounts over
2.147 billion, but deposits and withdrawals must be
made in amounts less than or equal to 1 billion coins.
What types of miscellaneous services do you offer?
Loans are available on a case by case basis. I will
also act as a intermediary for any in-game transaction
for a small percentage of the transaction amount.

----------------------------------------------------------------
What guarantees, if any, do you provide?
Equipment and deposits on Orestes are insured in the
event of loss due to my fault. The collateral for this
is approximately 10 billion coins, in both gold and
high end equipment that can be used to replace or
refund any error on my part.
Are there any benefits for bigger spenders?
As soon as some houses become available on the market,
there will be a private casino established for the top
25 vendors. The access to this casino will be limited
to those on that list, or people who pay a membership
fee. I also tend to be more lenient on refunds to my
top customers.
