I mean just how goofy would \n              explaining to a non-mudder that you were married to\n              an elven cleric. No one falls in love with text do\n              they?\n\n                 Then it all hit. A phone call from a friend of mine\n              who lives states away from me in Michigan. We used to\n              hang out on muds years ago. I'm talking early DIKU \n              type muds when color on a mud was rare and mahn-tor\n              was the big mob on the scene. Anyway, after hanging\n              up the phone and catching up with everything, I had\n              flashbacks of why he left for Michigan in the first\n              place. He went up there to get married. Mud marriage.\n              I sent out word weeks ago that I was looking for\n              couples who would like to sit and answer my prodding\n              and sometimes personal questions. I asked for couples\n              to share the stories they had. I have had the honor to\n              meet with many of you and the honor of hearing about\n              your mud marriages and real life experiences. \n\n                 I want to start by saying thanks to all of you. \n              You are all truly lucky people. I suppose I do not have to go\n              into the details of chemistry on how people meet and\n              fall in love. I could not honestly give the explanation\n              justice. Add that to the fact that most of the time\n              your working with text on a screen and imagination to\n              communicate so for a spark to start a fire in an \n              environment such as this seems a million to one. But trust\n              me, it can happen. And often does.\n \n                Let us fast forward beyond all the flirts and games,\n              (even if that part alone can be soooo much fun), and\n              let us jump to sometime after the couple has spent some\n              time together. There comes a time when they decide to\n              take it a step further. So how does one propose on a\n              mud? We got Camieos blessing but then \n                      we had to  ask Vir... Well Vir said that since Leala\n                      is his only daughter that I should quest for her. He \n                      then gave me a quest, I got all the items except 1 \n                      and that was a dinghy. I heard it was in shadowport \n                      so I went there to look, ended up DTing. I Lost a \n                      lot of nice EQ but it didn't matter to me because \n                      I got to marry Leala and Vir gave us his blessing.\n \n                 And Elisabet was kind enough to share with me the\n              story of how Fademan proposed to her.\n\n               Elisabet: There had been something between us for\n                         quite a while, although I think perhaps\n                         talking more and more for him to ask.\n                         It was very straightforward.  He got down\n                         on one knee and told me he'd be honored if\n                         I would marry him. But he went\n                       'I will brb'. We were in the garden of the\n                       asylum. He went and got me this ring,\n                       (Vaile's Love and Devotion).\n \n               Vaile: I was thinking... and I recalled. Got her a\n                      ring and a rose. I came back and smiled at\n                      her. I've play\nroleplaying games before this IRL, but I never realised the MUD could be used\nto RP...until...I saw Aelrynn's webpage...The Art of Roleplaying. A lot of the\nlogs there showed what RPing in RoD was about, and inspired me to find these\nRPers in RoD. Juliana says 'I don't.'\nYou laugh. \nYou say Then what do you do to recover from RP burnout?\n \nJuliana burns out every once a while, and goes out of sight...doing runs and\nother 'normal' mud stuff.\n \nMicala nods as she can relate to that.\nJuliana: Then I start needing to RP again, and I go over Juli's personality\nand try to find a new facet to explore that I didn't know before. Worse come \nto the worse, I start another character and play that for a while, before I go\nback to Juli. :) Usually my burnouts are directly related to the number of logs\nsitting in my hard drive waiting to be edited. :) So I try to finish them and\nupload them before I continue. Micala knew the mage would be up for\njust about anything, especially anything that even remotely smacked of\nadventure. Together they went down to the darkened cellar to explore and\nfound the ratling. It was such an odd little creature and being a rat..it\nwas destined to die. Die it did, and the next that crept out from the crack \nin the wall..and the next. T'was a pity that nosey castle page, Oisin, had to\ncome see what they were up to. Tho had he not 'tumbled down the stairs' and \nfallen upon their swords Micala and Wavin wouldnt have had nearly so much fun.\n\nIt wasn't until they took the corpses up to leave with Fis that they noticed\nthe mouse scampering about. Then another and another, till the castle was\nfairly seething with field mice. Cute little things they were too. One did\ntricks for them in the castle entry. It was quite taken with Queen Xanthia\nand did it's best to be charming. The Rat had other plans and promptly\nkilled him. What followed can only be described as a warfare that fueled the\nbloodlust of the Rol Na Feinne. Zenobia, being the curious type, decided to\ntest out a couple of spells upon it. The Rat brought an end to that with a\nbrutal smiting. In time,\nhowever, with the persistance of the Knights and massive amounts of healing\npowders the Rat fell, with the final kick of death delivered by Shin. \nThe Rol Na Feinne healed, sorted corpses, repaired and boasted, tho none could\nfigure out what exactly triggered the onslaught of mice and that Rat.
